More than a century of tradition
Like many printer manufacturers, Brother has its roots in other business sectors. The company was founded in 1908 as the Yasui Sewing Machine Co., a factory specializing in sewing machine repair. For more than 50 years the company made its name with sewing machines, which it began mass producing and exporting worldwide shortly after its founding. Still today, Brother earns a portion of its money through sewing machines. Later, typewriters became a part of Brother's business (first classical, then electronic). Finally in 1971, Brother achieved a market breakthrough with the introduction of the world's first high-speed printer.
The German branch office, Brother International GmbH, was established in 1962 as a purely sales organization. Originally based in Hamburg, the company moved to Frankfurt and finally in 1974 found its home in the Hessian city of Bad Vilbel. Brother International generates an annual income of 300 million euros through its sales of printers (ink, laser), print cartridges, toner cartridges and a variety of other Brother products.
Laser and ink jet devices from Brother
The manufacturer categorizes its products into the following groups: A3-multi-function devices, A4-multi-function devices, printers, fax machines, scanners and label printers. In addition, data glasses, P-touch label makers, professional stamp making machines, classic typewriters, and sewing and embroidery machines are offered.
Multi-function devices for A3 and A4 respectively are available in a wide variety of models like black and white or colour laser printers, as well as colour ink jet printers. Naturally, Brother multi-function devices are available in both 3-in-1 models (DCP) and 4-in-1 models (MFC). The former offers printing, copying and scanning functions, while the latter has an additional fax function.
When it comes to printers, Brother has products to cover an impressive range of needs, from desk printers to office printers to high performance printers. The top-of-the-line model is capable of printing up to 100 pages per minute. Brother's impressive portfolio is rounded out by a range of mobile printers, ideal for those business travellers and field workers. The company's array of fax machines includes models with laser or thermo-transfer printers, as well as devices with and without integrated telephones. Additionally, Brother has a line of both stationary and mobile scanners for home, office or on the go. Finally, this company offers a wide variety of label makers and printers, ranging from simple models for beginners to professional devices with integrated network connections capable of easily handling large print volumes, like QL-line, for example.
Naturally, Brother offers a complete range of accessories and devices to complement its machines, such as printer and toner cartridges, most of which are available in both regular and jumbo sizes. Jumbo cartridges offer more prints per cartridge and ultimately a reduced per page cost. You can find affordable ink and toner easily at our online shop.
