The Canon PIXMA iP3600 can produce 10 x 15 cm photo prints in 40 seconds. For A4 black & white printing, the device can produce 7.3 pages per minute and 5.5 ppm in colour. The printer supports paper formats up to A4 and a paper weight of up to 300 grams per cm2. Margin-less printing is also an option, as well as special printing formats like envelopes and business cards. The device has two separate paper storage units, each of which holds 150 sheets. The printer's dimensions are 296 x 153 x 431 cm (L x H x W) and it weighs 5.6 kilograms. The device is also outfitted with a USB port. While in use, the printer only produces 41 decibels of active noise, making it exceptionally quiet.

Changing the ink cartridges in this printer is a quick and easy process. When you open the device's top panel the ink cartridges will automatically slide to the middle, making them easy to access. The positions of empty cartridges are indicated via blinking LED lights, and the cartridges can be easily removed by hand. New cartridges are simply clicked in to place and the process is completed by closing the top panel, which will return the cartridges to their working position.
