Sharp printers and toner

Founded in 1912, the name Sharp was derived from one of the company’s first inventions, the world’s first mechanical retractable pencil, called “Ever Sharp Pencil”. Some of the technological breakthroughs Sharp became famous for include the world’s first portable electronic desk calculator “Compet” in 1964 and the first colour-capable facsimile in the world in 1990. Today Sharp is known as one of the world’s largest manufacturer for consumer electronics, like the “Aquos” line of LED TV’s. But Sharp also made a name for itself as a trusted producer of a wide range of laser printers and multi function printers (MFP). So whether you are looking for compact but powerful desktop MFPs for home and small offices or for highly advanced office printers for maximum office productivity, Sharp has the right device.

Tradition in innovation

Sharp unveiled its first photocopier in 1972, following it with a range of fast new digital copiers and multifunction systems in the late nineties. Today, Sharp’s worldwide printer/copier production has already exceeded 13.5 million units and they continue to make some of the world’s most powerful and popular digital document devices. High performance hardware and advanced toner technology are not Sharp’s only areas of expertise. They also develop powerful solutions that bring you faster, more efficient working practices and make everyone in the workplace more productive.
Their current range includes a wide selection of devices from space-saving copiers through to exceptionally versatile high-speed black & white and colour multifunction systems. Razor-sharp printing, fast output, and convenient duplexing ensure top performance. Multiple security functions such as secure network access and the optional Data Security Kit (DSK), which automatically encrypts and erases the data from each completed job, provide more of protection. And because Sharp develops the toner at the same time as the hardware, you’re guaranteed of optimum quality from the first page to the very last.

Revolutionary touchscreen navigation

Some of Sharp’s MFPs also feature a new 10.1-inch colour LCD touchscreen for intuitive operation, making it easy for even first-time MFP users to navigate. Document finishes like stapling and page layout can be confirmed onscreen before printing out to avoid erroneous printouts and paper waste. And documents can be previewed in various modes, including 3D, edit, and thumbnail, to match the task at hand. A Web browsing option adds full internet access for viewing and printing out Web pages and PDF files via the LCD—without using a PC!

Emphasizing environmental issues

Virtually all of the Sharp multi-functional devices and copiers on the European market bear the „Energy Star“, thanks to their low energy consumption. Sharp has had a long tradition of fulfilling the requirements of the coveted environmental label for many years.

Sharp’s new colour multi-functional devices (the current MX models) set new standards in terms of environmentally aware operation. A broad range of features reduces energy demands to a minimum: “Auto Power Shut-Off”, for example, switches the machine to the stand-by mode after a certain interval of inactivity. In addition, a pre-heating function turns off the heating roll and further reduces power consumption. Then there is the toner saving mode which reduces the density of the toner, prolonging the lifetime of the cartridge. But Sharp emphasizes environmental compatibility during the manufacture of its machines as well as during their use. The materials for the housing, just as one example, score points with ecological benefits such as halogen-free plastics.

Sharp Toner and Ink Cartridges

Sharp’s second-generation “Mycrostoner-HG” allows the full spectrum of colour reproduction in crisp, sharp detail. Their ink and toner cartridges are guaranteed to produce superior printing results for home or office use. The required cartridges are subjected to extensive quality tests and inspected and evaluated strictly in accordance with European Union criteria.
