Technical specs and functions of the HP OfficeJet 6500A
The HP OfficeJet 6500A can reach a maximum printing speed of 32 pages per minute in black & white and 31 pages per minute in colour. The aforementioned speeds apply to printing in so-called “draft” quality. Naturally a higher print quality requires a longer print time. The maximum print resolution is 4,800 x 1,200 dpi, while the scanner offers a 4,800 x 4,800 dpi resolution. The device's paper-saving function allows up to 6 pages to be printed on a single sheet. The scanner can also be used to process documents for copying. Copies can be made without connecting the device to a computer. The HP OfficeJet 6500A also supports digital faxing. The integrated card reader allows documents to be uploaded directly from an SD or MMC card. The device's 6 cm touchscreen display helps users to select images or texts to be printed. Thanks to the device's Ethernet capability, this multifunction device can be easily integrated into a network for accessibility from multiple computers.
Changing the ink cartridges of the HP OfficeJet 6500A
The cartridge unit is comprised of four separate cartridges for cyan, magenta, yellow and black, respectively. This multifunction device must be turned on to replace cartridges. Upon lifting the top panel, the cartridge unit will automatically move to a central position. Empty cartridges can then be easily removed. Before insertion, make sure to remove the protective film from new cartridges. Once new cartridges are properly clicked into place, the cartridge unit will return to operating position and the top panel can be closed again.
